Catalogue of the celebrated collection of English porcelain & pottery, formed by Mr. William Edkins, and removed from his residence, Queen Square, Bristol, comprising the finest known examples of Bristol & Plymouth porcelain : the Bristol collection contains : a vase of the finest paste & decoration, numerous important figures amongst which are, a set emblematical of the four quarters of the globe, a pair, representing the elements "Earth" and "Water", a number of exquisite flower plaques including the Franklin plaque, examples of the celebrated "Burke-Smith" & "Champion-Burke" tea services, in the post perfect state, Bristo glass, of great beauty and rarity, enamelled by Michael Edkins, a potrait figure of "Woodward" the actor, with the Plymouth mark incised in the paste, a fine collection of Worcester porcelain, containing a pair of hexagonal vases and covers, deep blue ground with medallions of exotic birds in Landscapes, and a vase with scroll handles, and medallions of exotic birds on green enamelled ground : a rare collection of transfer-printed Worcester, including a set of bell-shaped mungs in three sizes, with portrait of the King of Prussia, dated and signed, Chelsea, Derby-Chelsea, Derby, Swansea, Bow, &c. porcelain, including a magnificent Bow centre piece in four tiers of shells, a fine bust of George III, modelled by Rysbrach, maiolica lustred ware, a fine hispano moresco dish, in copper lustre and blue, of the fourteenth century, old English pottery, & Wedgwood & Turner ware which will be sold by auction by Messrs.
